YouTube Music is expanding its rollout of the new Activity feed to reach more users

Google’s rival to Spotify has launched a new Activity feed for users to keep up with their favorite artists. Available on Android app version 6.46.52, iPhone users access it through subscriptions. Desktop version may not have it, featuring a bell icon and suggested artists.

The new Activity feed from Google’s Spotify competitor is now being rolled out more widely. This section provides users with the latest updates from their favorite artists. Initially spotted in development last month, the TOI tech desk has confirmed its presence in the Android app version 6.46.52.

The Activity notifications feed is now visible for both Android and iPhone users based on their subscriptions. However, it may not be available on the desktop version of the YouTube Music app.

Similar to the bell icon used for “Notifications” in the main YouTube app, YouTube Music labels it as “Activity,” appearing only in the Home tab.

Located to the left of the search button, indicated by a bell icon, the feed reads: “Updates from artists that you subscribe to and other activities will be shown here.”

The Activity feed displays new singles and albums in reverse chronological order, accompanied by artist pictures and artwork. Sections are grouped as “Earlier,” “This week,” and more.

In addition, YouTube Music suggests artists based on your listening history. Subscribed artists can be found in the Library tab > Artists filter > Subscriptions.

This update is being rolled out via server-side update. If you can’t find the Activity feed, try force-stopping and relaunching the app.
